How should I secure the sensor in place?

Use a cohesive type bandage to wrap the sensor in place. Do not use adhesive tape or any tape that will tightly constrict the area.

Do I need to shave the site before using the sensor?

If the patient has a thick undercoat (such as a Husky), it may be necessary to shave a small spot at the ventral tail base to improve contact and readings.
